Purpose: To read and match words with similar syllable types, division patterns, or morphological units. Description: Depending on the game, fronts of cards have a word and a number. Pick2, Pick 4 and Crazy Moose cards are also included. Additionally label cards allow the game cards to be used for sorting. Games can be played with 2-4 players. A colorful illustration of a “Crazy Moose” is on the backs of all cards. Activities: Prior to playing the games, students can sort cards by the designated aspect of the game, as they place them under category cards. When playing Crazy Moose, students match the designated aspect of a word or the number on the card, to the overturned card on the top of the discard pile. Crazy Moose cards allow students to change the sound to be played. Decks can also be used for reading and spelling drills. |
