About Us
Moose Materials were first created by Janet Jones and Terry Kelly in 1993. The mascot of their school, a moose, inspired the name of the company. During 2006-2007 Janet Jones, co-creator of Moose Materials, worked full-time to redevelop the materials. Those of you who have ordered Moose Materials in the past, likely remember Eloise Jones on the other end of the telephone line. Eloise, Janet’s mother, has been her business director since the inception of Moose Materials and a wonderful representative of the company. The continuation of Moose Materials is a result of her invaluable support.
Janet Jones has a B.S. in Speech and Language Pathology from Northwestern University and an M.A. in Learning Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her educational background, combined with 33 years of experience as a multi-sensory language instructor have allowed her to teach children with varying needs at all levels of the language continuum. In addition, she has done extensive teacher training and is a Fellow in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. |

She is currently teaching children with learning differences at Trident Academy in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She continually learns from her students, who challenge her to develop innovative methods and activities to meet their individualized needs. She feels a safe and encouraging student-teacher relationship is crucial to their success.
