WHAT?

  • Moose Materials are primarily games and manipulatives designed to help students master the structure of the English Language.  
  • These materials provide practice in the areas of phonological awareness, phonics, word structure,  morphology, orthography, fluency and vocabulary.
  • The structure of the English language is covered from phonemic  awareness and beginning sound/symbol relationships to the most advanced levels of word structure & morphology

WHEN & WHERE?

  • The flexibility of Moose Materials allows the activities and games
  • to support a wide variety of structured language programs
  • When presenting new information in a multi-sensory manner
  • During the application or review portions of a structured language lesson
  • At the end of a class to wrap up a lesson in a positive, light-hearted way
  • In the regular classroom when working independently at centers
  • At homewhen practicing skills with family members by playing a game
  • During the critical opportunities for additional reinforcement provided by paraprofessionals
  • In tutoring centers where children arrive tired, at the end of a full day
